An outdoor, woodland wedding in Lancashire
Bruce and Holly’s festival wedding, aka ‘Brollyfest’, was without doubt one of the most fun, colourful and unique weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending! Spring Cottage has a special place in my heart and it was so lovely to be back there for this amazing day. Bruce is a photographer so it was an honour to be asked to photograph their wedding and I knew they would have thought of everything from what they had told me about their plans early on. They were married outdoors with guests sitting on hay bales in the garden and then enjoyed drinks on the terrace in the sunshine, and all of the children were lent cameras to snap away for the day! Such a good idea and it kept them so busy.
A colourful Festival theme
The day was a complete explosion of colour!! And we know how much I love a colourful wedding.. There were ribbons, flowers, umbrellas, wellies, fairy lights… all in a rainbow of colours and placed so perfectly across this gorgeous little woodland venue. Pretty little parties did an amazing job of the decor and styling and really brought everything alive. The food was unbelievable… huge platters of meat, veg, fruit and cheese on wooden boards set out on the long trestle tables, with centrepieces of colourful gin bottles holding flowers.
An outdoor dance floor and live music
Once they had finished their meal in the marquee and had some very funny and emotional speeches, they headed back to the terrace and on to the outdoor dance floor to be entertained by friends DJing sets from a disco shed. To top it all off The Rush really brought the house down.. as usual! This band are the absolute best and always fill the dancefloor! We all had such a good time.
Huge thanks to Bruce and Holly for trusting me to do my thing and making my job such a pleasure, and for throwing an outstanding party.
Also thanks to my lovely-as-always second shooter Sam, and all of the other super-talented suppliers involved in this day…
Bruce and Holly’s wedding has now been featured on the brilliant Whimsical Wonderland Weddings blog… if you’d like to read more about how they planned their day you can see the post here.
