THE WAY I PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING

Quiet when it matters, A little more involved when it helps, but never bossy.

I won’t ask you to perform for the camera.

I’ll watch, I’ll wait, I’ll anticipate what’s about to happen.

I’ll photograph your guests trying not to cry, your best friend losing it during the speeches, the little glance between you when nobody else is looking, and the ridiculous dance moves that definitely weren’t part of the plan,

And yes, I’ll still take you off for those epic portraits in the good light.

I’ll gently guide you when you need it, but for most of the day, I’m simply there, paying attention to everything.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HAVE ME THERE

I’ll probably fix your veil or collar, I’ll pin on a buttonhole, I’ll carry your bouquet.

I’ll share my mints with you before the ceremony, learn your family politics at lightning speed and shed a little tear when your grandma does.

I’ll encourage you to go outside for ten minutes because the light is absolutely banging.

I may occasionally disappear into a bush for a photograph… It’s all part of the job.

But underneath all of that, my aim is really simple: to make having your photograph taken feel easy.
