This Underley Grange Wedding belongs to Kim and Will who got married at this beautiful place last Saturday. I’d never been to Underley Grange, which is near Kirkby Lonsdale, before but what a stunning setting and the perfect spot to host your wedding!! They hired the house and grounds for the whole weekend and organised a marquee, caterers and lots of other amazing things from some great suppliers to make it an incredible day.
I started the day at Kim’s parents’ house which was so spacious and light, so a dream for me to photograph bridal prep. They had a lovely chilled morning of hair, make up and fizz, with some gift giving and a few emotional moments too. Dave joined me for the day second shooting again, so he met Will at home before heading off to church with all the boys.
It was a hot one! Gorgeous sunshine and crazy temperatures at St John’s church in Levens but everyone managed to stay cool, thank goodness. I loved the guard of honour their farming friends made with their pitchforks as the bride and groom emerged from church! Guests then lined the path all the way down to the lychgate and threw confetti as Kim and Will exited towards the wedding car. A quick stop off back at home to see their dog, Meg, followed before making their way over the Underley Estate and the beautiful Underley Grange.
There were drinks, canapés, family photos under the trees and chilling out in the sunshine before they were seated in the marquee for dinner. One of the most fun moments of the day was after dinner when the singing waiters made a surprise appearance and got the whole party on their feet, singing, dancing and napkin waiving! It was great fun!
We snook away after the speeches with the bride and groom for a little trip down the lane to the most magnificent backdrop ever… photos on the stone beach by the bridge with the sun nice and low and a very welcome breeze… it was absolutely stunning! We weren’t away long and were soon back in the marquee for dancing and partying with their evening guests.
Here’s a preview for Mr and Mrs Knipe… thanks so much guys!….
