A forest wedding in Lancashire - Sarah and Andy at Spring Cottage -

I’m struggling to find the words to describe just how utterly AMAZING this wedding was! Sarah and Andy had a Forest wedding in Lancashire … actually at Spring Cottage in Rivington which is one of my favourite venues ever. It was completely relaxed and totally unique.

They arrived with their beautiful boys, Rory and Wren, in the morning and had the excellent idea that we could do a few quick family portraits and some photos of the two of them before any guests arrived (and before the boys went off to explore in the forest and stream!). As a family they love the outdoors and being in the forest, so this venue was absolutely perfect for their day.

Guests started to arrive at around 11am and were served the most delicious brunch board to start the day. Once everyone had finished feasting Sarah and Andy’s friend, Emma, lead a hand-fasting ceremony, where Rory took the job of binding their hands with ribbon. After the ceremony there was confetti galore and drinks and canapés on the lawn and back up on the terrace.

Meanwhile, over the stream and into the woods the couple’s friends from Communitree where keeping the kids busy toasting brioche on the campfire and building magic wands and crowns using items foraged from the woods. There were hammocks hanging from the trees and plenty of opportunity for paddling in the water.

Later in the afternoon they had the Thingamajigs play on the outdoor stage and everyone danced on the terrace and sang along… it was so much fun to watch! And just before home at 8pm they enjoyed wood-fired pizza and paella to round the day off.

Sarah and Andy packed so much fun into the day.. there were lots of comments of how brilliant it was and you could tell each and every guest had the best time!
