On Wednesday I was down in London to photograph Pavlos and Katie’s amazing Micklefield Hall wedding. It was SO much fun to photograph and I especially loved all the Greek traditions which they fused with lots of English ones too.
I spent the morning with Pavlos and his family, at his parents home, where they had a greek ceremony in the garden to dress and prepare him for the day. Meanwhile I left the lovely Becky back at Micklefield Hall to photograph Katie, her mum and bridesmaids as they had hair by Gabriella and makeup by Studio Couture by PK. Once Pavlos and his family had jumped on the vintage red bus I whizzed back over to the venue just in time to capture Katie putting her dress on and adding the final touches.
They had a beautiful ceremony led by Katie’s godmother, followed by a fantastic Greek ceremony led by the priest, where they wore crowns and were blessed. All of this with the backdrop of the beautiful lake which guests were seated around in the sunshine… it really is one of the most stunningly beautiful venues and I was so happy to be back!! Once they were officially married they walked the full length of the grassy aisle with their guests throwing confetti high in the air, it was so much fun!
Drinks reception and canapés on the lawn followed before everyone was seated for dinner, speeches and a rest from the heat of the day! We also managed to get some portraits of the bride and groom in the evening before the sun set and before the dancing started. The dancing!!! The traditional greek bride and groom’s dances are amazing to photograph and so exciting… the whole venue was buzzing!
We had the best day photographing this English and Greek fusion wedding at Micklefield Hall… Thank you so much to Katie and Pavlos for having us and to their families for being so lovely and welcoming us in.
Here’s a quick preview for now…
What a day!!!
