Myself and my good friend Lisa, aka ‘The One Who Bakes’, got our heads together in the New Year to plan this bright and colourful wedding inspiration shoot at Hoghton Tower. We enlisted the help of some of the best and loveliest wedding suppliers in the North West who created so much beauty.. I’m so proud of what we achieved!
We wanted to go for an explosion of colour… to show that you don’t have to play it safe when it comes to your wedding palette and to spread a little inspiration for a more vibrant wedding style. And I think we managed it 🙂 I spent the evenings running up to the shoot on my kitchen floor with a paint brush and a box full of acrylics… something I haven’t done in years but absolutely loved it. And everyone else worked so hard too both in preparation and on the day.
I had amazing help from Hayley at Big Chief Tipi’s, Beth at Betsy’s Living Vintage and Elaine at Felicity Farm Flowers, all of whom helped me to source and style the details for this bright and colourful fine art look. We were also lucky enough to have the talents of Kerry Baker on Make-Up and Victoria Shoesmith on hair, and the brilliant Claire Gould of Calligraphy for Weddings hand wrote some beautiful stationary for us. Lisa’s cake looked perfect amidst our vibrant set-up and was a definite show-stopper… and the backdrop of Hoghton Tower was, as always, breath taking.
Our model, Kerri, looked simply stunning in both of the Arele’s Bridal gowns (thank you Michelle!!).. our aim was to show off her gorgeous, curvaceous body and luminous skin.. which to be fair wasn’t difficult.. she just glows!
