If it’s lucky for it to rain on your wedding day then Victoria and Adam must be the luckiest bride and groom ever… it barely stopped raining all day Saturday for their Thornton Manor Lakeside Marquee wedding. This was the first time I’d ever been to Thornton Manor and I hadn’t realised the the estate was so big! The Lakeside Marquee is tucked away, surrounded by trees with the most beautiful view over the lake.

I started the day at Victoria’s parent’s house which was stunning! So much room for all the girls to get ready. We then made a dash in the rain for St Joseph’s church in Birkenhead where they had a full mass service with some great hymns and readings. I loved the willingness of all their friends and family to stand outside in the rain and throw confetti, it was so much fun.

We arrived at the Lakeside Marquee to find some staggeringly beautiful floral installations by Pure Floral design… it really made it! I particularly loved the flower arch which meant we had a lovely backdrop for taking a few formal photos without venturing outside and getting wet.

The speeches were funny and emotional all at the same time, and had the whole room in stitches. Then once they had cut their cake they such off to the secret dance floor before the big reveal of the first dance! Such a fun way to start the evening celebrations.
