Kirsty and Jon held their wedding at Woodlands Hotel in Leeds this weekend, and it was so, so lovely! Like lots of other couples, they were meant to get married last Autumn and had postponed to this year, and thank goodness it was second time lucky for them!
They were both already at the hotel when I arrived, Kirsty getting ready with her family and bridesmaids and Jon having a drink at the bar with his best man. It was all super chilled and a lovely, calm atmosphere! I actually second shot for a friend at Jon’s sister’s wedding in August this year, so it was so nice to see lots of familiar faces and be welcomed back so warmly.
The ceremony was beautiful… the new orangery and extension to the hotel is so light and stylish… those skylights just flood the rooms with light which is obviously an absolute dream for us photographers! I loved that Kirsty and Jon had organised a confetti throw as they exited the ceremony too, that was a fun moment!!
Once they’d had a glass of bubbly to celebrate with all their guests we ventured into the gardens for a few group photographs and a wander for some bride and groom portraits too. It was so autumnal and the hotel made a great backdrop for photos. Their wedding and breakfast and speeches in the orangery followed, with some hilarious moments and lots of smiling faces! They had also organised some sparklers on the terrace for straight after their meal which went down really well with guests and was fun to capture.
One of the highlights of the whole day for me was their first dance!! They’ve been having lessons at Rise Dance and did an amazing routine with whoops and screams from all their family and friends! So much fun!
Here’s a preview of this super happy day for the new Dr & Mrs Robinson 🙂
