Verity and Ben’s Didsbury Park Wedding was so stunningly beautiful but also completely relaxed and low-key.. and what a treat to have an outdoor wedding in Manchester.
Verity got ready with their little girl, Poppy, and her sister and the children at Eleven Didsbury Park. She then walked with her bridesmaids up to Didsbury House Hotel, just a few doors down, where Ben was waiting at the door of the ceremony room. They had a lovely little ‘first look’ moment before walking down the aisle together.
Verity’s Laure De Sagazan dress from The Mews Bridal just blew me away from the moment she put it on. It looked completely perfect on her, covering but not hiding her tiny little 3 month baby bump.. she was positively glowing. Her style complemented by her loose boho waves and natural make-up, both by Sarah Morten. And that flower crown!!!
They had a humanist ceremony which was totally relaxed with lots of little personal details… their celebrant told the story of how they met which was lovely to hear! They lit their candle together with little Poppy watching and exited to a flurry of confetti at the front of the hotel.
The sunlight was just amazing all day… that warm glow of twinkling light glimpsing through the trees. It reminded me of when I went to Rome in the winter, where it was hazy and warm. After the ceremony we took 10 minutes out to have a stroll across the road to Fletcher Moss Gardens, where they had a few minutes alone and we got some romantic portraits of just the two of them.
We then returned to 11 Didsbury Park where all their guests were relaxing in the garden, enjoying the afternoon sunshine. The children were climbing trees and playing games, or swinging in the hammock, and the grown ups were having drinks and canapes.
I absolutely love this venue for a low-key garden wedding. The patio area, on a nice day, can be completely open air and it really feels so intimate and atmospheric. They had decorated the tables and trellises with bunting, paper pom poms and beautiful little bottles and vases full of flowers. They queued for delicious barbeque and fresh salads (which were amazing.. I was lucky enough to join them!) before some hilarious and touching speeches.
Their first dance was just inside the french doors, which was a cosy space and made for some very funny moments with laughter and whooping!
Here are my favourite photographs from their relaxed and pretty day…
This day was SO much fun and an absolute pleasure to photograph! Huge thanks to Verity and Ben and their families. I’d love to go back to Didsbury Park for another outdoor wedding!
