This garden wedding in wales was just stunning! Paula and Steve were married at St Paul’s Isycoed, in the village where they live, and then had their wedding breakfast, drinks and reception at home, in a marquee in their garden.
The church was bathed in the most gorgeous afternoon light, with sunshine beaming through the large windows throughout the ceremony. It was so romantic!
The couple have the most beautiful and rustic home set in fields of luscious green in the middle of the welsh countryside. They are renovating the house itself, and have a mountain of work to complete before it will be habitable, but the setting was just perfect for their outdoor, relaxed wedding. They set tables and chairs under parasols in the courtyard so that guests could have drinks and canapes in the sunshine, taking in the scenery.
The marquee was decorated with hundreds of little cans, vases and jars all filled with pretty garden flowers, and bunting made from vintage lace handkerchiefs and doilies. They had a party tipi for the children and puppies (their two dogs joined in the celebrations too). They had a semi-naked cake with fresh flowers and potted plants, and pretty wine bottles which they’d brought over from France for the occasion.
After the meal and some hilarious speeches by Steve and his best man, guests wandered around the gardens and relaxed on deckchairs to watch the sun set. The courtyard transformed in the evening as they lit the fairy lights for people to relax outdoors and they had a brilliant swing band who played live music whilst they danced under the chandelier.
It was such a fabulous and totally relaxed day, with a very pretty rustic style. I’m excited to share my images with you!
I’ll start with Paula and her bridesmaids as they got ready at The Grosvenor Pulford, with hair and make-up by Jane at ‘Made up by Cathryn’ …
